The 14th Street Mural Unveiled

Last week I went to a show at the State Theater with some friends. One of my friends, Steve Jacob, is a graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design. Naturally we talked about art; we discussed trends in general and the newest arrivals of public art between Sarasota and Bradenton. I’ve been grasping at straws for an article about illustration. The 9th avenue mural project

I’ve been thinking a lot about graffiti, street art, public art and the willingness of the city of Bradenton to become a part of it. From our front yards and through coverage in local media we’ve watched the 9th avenue mural and the Mixon mural burst into life. We will see a massive community mural plastered on the side of the police substation on 14th and 14th and art scaling the pillars alongside a freshly cemented skate park at Riverwalk. Launch of The Village’s Digital Store

The Village is always looking to grow in new and dynamic ways. One of these initiatives is the continued digitization of ourselves and our product. So with that we’d like to announce the opening of The Village Magazine’s Digital Shop. While small now, it will continue to grow with new The Village branded products and our artists work.
