“Event: ‘Light Chasers: Plein Air Painters of the Sun Coast’ Art Exhibition
An exhibition of 40 light-filled landscape paintings, captured around our sun coast by over 40 nationally and locally known artists. The Plein Air event will begin with a gala evening on Mar 16 2012, 5 pm at the ‘Celery Barn’ in the artist colony of Towles Court, 266 South Links, Sarasota. It will run through 30 March 2012, 12 noon – 5 pm Tues-Sat. A limited number of tickets will be sold for a chance to win a beautiful painting by one of our nationally known artists, Katie Dobson Cundiff. Admission to the exhibition is free.
Mark your calendars for this exciting event, which addresses the form of painting ‘en plein air’, the French term for paintings done outside. The artist seeks to capture the moment as light brushes over aspects of the landscape. The artists invariably deal with changing environment and weather conditions as they follow their passion to paint in this plein air art form. Many artists will be present, and we look forward to seeing you.
